Happy Love Day

My one-and-only honey had to work today. No biggie, he usually works on Saturday. But he came home bearing gifts - cards and candy ;o) We've had a nice, quiet day.

I/Zeke had a great night last night! So I was feeling pretty good this morning and wanted to surprise my sleeping sweetheart when he woke up. One of his favorite breakfasts is biscuits and gravy, so we decided to make red-marbled heart biscuits.

And Mr. Zeke. He found his fingers. It was love at first bite.

Happy Valentine's Day!

What's with baby acne? This kid has little zits everywhere! They only seem to last a day or so, then disappear completely - too bad puberty acne isn't as quick-healing! ;o)

This kid likes the number "8!" We were just seconds away from 8:08 am! ;o)

Here are a few first pictures of our sweet little guy!

I am only posting this one for posterity's sake. It's the only picture of me in the hospital.

Things are going well (at this precise moment), but will be slow-going, so I will post soon about his birth. It was amazing!!

Not amazing however, was coming home and having all 3 girls come down with the stomach flu! I am so paranoid that Zeke will get it! My wonderful mom (who came to stay with us for 2 weeks!) came down with the flu last night. :o( Poor Grandma!!

Thank you to everyone for the well wishes, calls and goodies! We love you all!

A New Year

We had a great New Year's Eve! It was just us, nice and quiet. We stayed up late watching movies, baking and playing Wii Fit! What a total blast!!!

We toasted in the New Year (yes, at midnight) with Martinelli's Sparkling Cider (really, is there anything better?).

Then on New Year's Day we had several of the Zahlmann's over for a Rose Bowl Party (Go UCS)!

A Very Zahlmann Christmas

What a great Christmas morning!! The kids got up early (6am) for the first time. It was a lot of fun to go through our stockings together and see what Santa had brought!

Then we had all the family show up: Grandma and Grandpa, Nana and Papa, Scott and Jessica with Coop and Corbin, Renee and Marco and Kym and Alan. It was a blast to have everyone over! Papa made his famous pancakes with eggs in the middle and we all ate together.

THEN it was present time.

Cooper got into Avonleigh's princess make-up kit...pink is good on you, Coop!

Chris opening up his new wallet

Avonleigh looked almost as good as Cooper did

Grandma holding the plaque that Chris' mom made her...LOVE IT!

Me, Cooper, Jessica and Scott holding Payton

Wow, a Baby Alive!

Laethym opening up her card from Nana and Papa - notice all the loot around her! This kid made out like a bandit!

Look! Horsies from grandma and grandpa!!

Eating a yummy breakfast

Papa slaving away over a hot stove

Everyone gathered in the living room watching the Zahlmann Family Videos that Nana and Papa make for all the kids - SO COOL!

Christmas Eve - Jammie Time!

Christmas Eve is such a delightful time...the excitement, the anticipation, the family...ah, I love it! My parents came up that evening and we gathered over at my in-laws for an evening of snacks and The Nativity. Then we headed back to our house to open 1 gift (has to be jammies!) and get the kids to bed.

Hangin' out with grandma and grandpa - I can't get enough of Payton's "cheeser" face!

Look at Payton's new jammies

And Avonleigh's

And Christopher's

And Laethym's

Here we go!

Winter Wonderland

We have had the MOST incredible weather here this winter! We will usually get a little bit of snow each year (we're talkin' an inch or so and it melts off by late morning). But this year...it has been COLD and the snow finally started to fall...and fall...and fall...oh, and it stuck! It truly has been a winter wonderland here for us! I could handle this type of weather every year!!
I was so impressed with this girl! As tiny as she is, I thought she'd be frozen and want to stay indoors, but oh no! She was a trooper and kept going - even when she was eventually soaked to the bone!

Our "sled dog" Harley. Isn't he cute?! He had such a good time pulling the kids around - I think they enjoyed it too!
