LURKERS: COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE! *GOING PRIVATE*

So I have contemplated going private for some time now. After hearing a friends' crazy story I started using some security measures and found some scary things about my own blog.

So, please email me at: szahlmann@gmail.com if you read our blog and would like an invitation
(or leave a comment below with your email address and I'll delete it as soon as I add you).

I'm sad it has come to this, but I need to do what is best for my family. I love reading friend's blogs and hope that many of you continue reading ours.

I'll leave this up for a week (maybe 2), but won't be posting anything new until we go private.

PS. read my comments for an explanation...

So, can you share the story for the benefit of the rest of us? And does going private mean that you no one but the people you have e-mails for can access your site?

Thanks for the info!

Sarah, and you have my e-mail, right? :-)

Any other takers? I've got all the family added already...

A brief explanation, "for the benefit of the rest of you!"

After hearing a friend of a friend's story about a blog-stalker, I decided to put a counter on my blog to see who and how many people visit us (and from where). I love that we have reconnected with so many great friends and love keeping current with everybody! Anyway, I found that even though I had taken my blog off of search engines, etc (ya know, all the blogger precautions you can take on your template), that people were downloading pictures of my children from Google Images. This is NOT ok with me - I should say, PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW were downloading this pics. Most of whom were in other countries, but still unnerving.
Anyway, my radar was going off, so I feel like this is what I need to do for some peace of mind.
I definitely want to keep up with all of our friends, and don't mind those visitors who are "friend of a friend," I just want to know who you are and how you got here.

So, take care and take caution!

Hi,
Thanks for the comment on my blog. Did you find me by chance or did you know who I was? I am just curious because I lived in Corvallis in the 90's and went to Corvallis High School with your husband. I feel terrible because I don't remember his name but clearly remember the first day he came to seminary. What a small world. I know a lot of your blogging friends but have not had contact in years. I have been doing well cooking healthy and whole for a couple weeks(tried my whole married life). My husband loves it but there is a funny story behind that. Let your hubby know I was very impressed with his kind heart and friendliness in school. He got the raw end of the stick moving in so late into high school. I hope my memory serves me well.
Have a great day and get back with me if you like and I will share some cool blogs of other healthy eaters!!! I miss Peavy Arboretum just after a cool rain but I am loving the sun here in Idaho!

Hey Stephanie- in response to your comment about Stacey. She lived in Corvallis until our junior year of high school. I'm wondering if she looks familiar because she did visit me sometimes when I lived with the Lincoln Ladies (April included) and maybe one of your visits overlapped. Either way, you'd love each other- you are both fantastic!
