Meal Planning

We have decided to encourage the kids to help out more in the kitchen. For the most part, the girls love to help cook, but Chrisser needs a little encouragement. So we sat down after FHE and made a menu for the next 2 weeks. Each of the older 3 kids were assigned a weekday, plus Chris and I. Then on Saturday we will have leftovers and Sunday is family dinner at mom and dad's.

So on our night we get to choose the meal AND help shop and prepare it. It's been going great this week! The kids are so excited for their night and I love having the menu all planned out (we went shopping on Tuesday for everything so I love having that done too!).

Viola! Spaghetti and turkey meatballs with marinara

2lbs Ground Turkey

3/4 - 1 Cup Seasoned Breadcrumbs

2 eggs

1 cup Parmesan cheese

1 Tbl Dehydrated onion (or more to taste)

1 heaping Tbl garlic

1 tsp Oregano

Salt and Pepper to taste

Put in bowl and smash! Form into 2" balls. Heat a little oil in a frying pan and brown lightly on all sides. If you have time to simmer for a few hours (or more) then put them into your simmering spaghetti sauce. If not, cook them all the way through then mix with marinara.
